December 2024: KPMG recently invited me to speak with them about the energy transition and the key role that we can all play in this exciting future. I throughly enjoyed chatting with Colm about the strong women in both my family and professional circle and how that has empowered me to step up in doing interesting work that has a soceital benefit.
January 2024: Colm O'Regan is a very genuine and funny person and he was the recent host of the Sisk Supply Chain Dinner where I was a panellist. We hit it off and he kindly invited me to join him on his comedy maths podcast "The Function Room". It was absolutely nerd heaven preparing to answer the question of how I apply maths in energy system integration.
October 2023: Energy Ireland invited me to write a article on a topic of my choosing so I leapt at the chance to talk about how taking a circular approach to energy system integration will be critical not only to driving net zero projects, but also to contributing to national objectives.

August 2023: During my presentation to the Galway Energy Summit hosted by ASHRAE, I leaned into my very pink outfit by claiming I was paying homage to the Barbie movie. There was a theme - Declan Meally of the SEAI had discussed Oppenhenheimer! My point was that we can't pretend the world is all perfect - we have to start the energy transition from where we are. I caught up with Tunji Ifaturoti for the ASHRAE podcast on the day.

May 2023: In this article for the Examiner, I spoke about the huge opportunity for Cork to becoming the Hydrogen Capital of Ireland. The harbour is the second largest in the world, well suited from a thriving green hydrogen sector. Our well estbalished industrial base could benefit from its use as an energy sector or feedstock while the shipping industry could decarbonise their fuel choice with this versatile energy vector.

December 2022: Cork Chamber's quarterly magazine is called Chamberlink and reflects topics of interest to company members. In this article on pages 8-9, I provided an overview of our energy system today (spoiler: there's more to energy than electricity) and how important it is to transition to a green independent secure energy system for Ireland.
November 2022: Along with Shane Cooney from Eirgrid, Prof Brian Norton of Tyndall Institue and Tim Hayes, European Commission Representation in Ireland, I discussed how Ireland's energy system can support the European ambition to be the first zero carbon economy by 2050. September 2022: Mason Hayes and Curran invited me to present on the role for energy system integration in achieving Energy Security in a Net Zero World. Starting from the view that we must consider affordability and sustainability in conjunction with energy security, I provided an overview of the integral role for green hydrogen in supporting Ireland to achieve a green independent energy future.
April 2022: Gulf Intelligencse asked me to speak about the role for system thinking as we transition from a fossil fuel based economy to one where renewables are at the heart of powering the energy system.
March 2022: I joined MEP Sean Kelly, Noel Cunniffee of WEI and Paddy Hayes of ESB to discusss harnessing Ireland’s potential in the area of green hydrogen and how producing, storing and using green hydrogen can complement the role of electricity in a secure, resilient, zero carbon integrated energy system, and what policy support measures could be introduced to speed up the transition to a hydrogen economy.
November 2021 Philip Boucher Hayes of RTE interviewed me for this Hot Mess podcast in November 2021. Aptly named, this series looks at the hot mess we find ourselves in, surely one of the best descriptions of the wicked problem that is climate change. It was fun to feature in the same episode as Barry McMullin, DCU with whom I meet regularly through Engineers Ireland.
November 2021 Daniel Murray of the Sunday Business interviewed me for his Five Degrees of Change podcast; I cannot recommend the experience highly enough! I had to identify three changes I'd like to see made at policy level as well as two changes I've made myself to address climate change.
